Let's start from the beginning...
I was born in Rochford, Essex. Whilst I was growing up we moved around a lot. So I wouldn’t say I have a ‘home’ town.
I started in scouting as a young Cub Scout in Rayne, Essex. I was educated in Braintree and Witham. After college, I went straight into work in sales for an outdoor equipment company. Later, I got a promotion as a Store Manager role in Swindon, Wiltshire.
Shortly after moving to Swindon, I finished with retailing. I joined a sales and marketing agency, selling products on behalf of leading brands like General Motors, Deutsche Bank, and Vodafone to name a few.
I was then head-hunted to work in the non-profit sector for 5 years as a Sales Manager and later became Group Data Manager after implementing my first Salesforce project successfully.
Having caught the Salesforce bug (otherwise known as becoming an #AwesomeAdmin), I passed my first Salesforce Certification in 2014.
Shortly after certifying, I was offered my first Salesforce Administrator role with a start-up company in Reading, Berkshire. Changing jobs wasn’t the only thing that happened at that time… I met my wonderful wife – Natalie.
We decided move to Reading in 2015 and made it our home.
Stuff I like to do…
When I am not working, I am volunteering.
I’m a District Explorer Scout Leader and Local Training Manager for Reading Central Scout District. I’m also a Regional Leadership and Management Skills Trainer, helping our managers and leaders to lead programme delivery for young people in their roles.
I am an avid technologist. I love tinkering with software and building gaming-grade PC’s to feed another obsession – PC gaming.
I love going camping and spending time outdoors. Through scouting, I developed a passion for Archery, Shooting, Fencing, and Bush-crafting to an instructor level. I like travelling to different countries with my wife to experience different cultures and sights.
My wife and I are cinema buff’s and enjoy going to comedy gigs.
